Explanation

My ultimate goal for students is that they develop the ability to show love to others and to innovate. This blog is focused on the first of those goals. Once a week, I display one of these posts on the board as students walk in, and I have them take the first few minutes of class to write a note of gratitude to someone and actually get it to them somehow. My hope is that they'll thereby be able to improve specific relationships in their lives as well as the general habit of mind of finding reasons for gratitude in their lives and showing it to others. I have an old dresser in my class that's full of various kinds of paper, writing utensils, envelopes, etc... for students to use as they make their letters. I figure it's a good way to double-dip by growing students' gratitude and creativity at the same time.
